"That was a rather convoluted sentence ...

sorry. I wanted to demonstrate the notion that no situation is simple enough to legitimately be subject to one moral ideal. I know I failed, I wasn't being clear and I will think about a better way to make that point in the future ... next time I change my name, it should probably be to 'ramble_less'.

"There is an old moral problem-- where the priest of a village is asked if he would sacrifice his daughter to save the village. And he says, no. You can't begin to rationalize the death of one to save others. That leads to the Greater Good dilemma."

There is no greater good you can commit than what is good for the soul you're attached to.

I have taken the stand that I would not commit torture, or condone torture, even if it would save all of humanity from certain death. This position usually gets me cast out of discussions on 'interrogation.'

I'm really shutting down the computer now.

Have Peace,
