Retch? Why? Money, ID, background check, etc. in exchange for a shotgun. How else would you propose selling them? Oh, wait. Are you suggesting law abiding citizens shouldn't be allowed to buy shotguns? On what grounds?

No. Why would it?

And then we have nutcakes carrying guns into church and that doesn't make an impression on you?

If nutcases are carrying around guns, thats all the more reason for ordinary people to be allowed to have guns.
