"Why is the Left not bashing the automakers for ripping people off the way they are the oil companies?"

I thought you were FOR free markets? Whatever the market will bear. So are all us "liberals".

There's a crying need for a windfall profits tax if I ever heard of one. Selling hybrids at market premiums prevents the poor from buying them.

Because that doesn't effect every person, every day. So it's not a priority. But I'd love to see something done about it.

I went and looked at hybrid vehicles today.

The one I looked at had a "market premium" of $5,000 on it.

Why is the Left not bashing the automakers for ripping people off the way they are the oil companies?

Unfortunately, that's how the free market that your pundits love so much works. What's the point of bashing the auto companies......."market premiums" is one of the flaws of capitalism.
