That's what invigorated AQ.....the tainting of Mecca by non Muslims. You haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. While it is true that most Arabs didn't want us in the region, we were there at the invitation and request of both Kuwait and SA. Yousef, at the time of the bombing, wrote letters indicating his complaints and demands were as follows: a) An end to all US aid to Israel; b) An end to US diplomatic relations with Israel c) A demand for a pledge by the United States to end interference "with any of the Middle East countries' interior affairs ." As you can see, none of these had ANYTHING to do with any "tainting" of Mecca or the American presence in countries to which we had been invited. I could trace back every terrorist attack against the US to some inappropriate or aggressive action by a US president usually of the GOP variety. Of course, just as I can trace back damned near every military event since the late 70s to the incompetence of the Carter administration. You're anti-American and this is what makes you anti-American. You are an America-hater. You believe we are responsible for all evil in the world. We know that. But that doesn't mean there is ANY relationship between the '93 or '01 bombings and these issues. It just means that in your tiny little uninformed mind you see what you want to see. You are clearly ignorant of both Yousef's history and that of bin Laden. If you want to discuss these subjects I recommend you get yourself up to speed first. What you (and frankly, most people) don't get is that neither of the WTC bombings had much to do with America's presence in the ME. Bin Laden had been trying to engage with the Americans ever since he caused the Russians to leave Afghanistan. He beat the Russians and wanted to take on the Americans. Our presence in SA/Kuwait was, frankly, incidental to the process. What you further don't understand is this is a war between Muslims and the West. Prior to Mogadishu, you had Sudan, Iran, and even Saddam operating in concert in the Horn of Africa -- all in a coordinated effort, ultimately, against the United States.
