The real power of the USA is the economic system and legal system which supports it. I have given USA businesses nearly all our money to develop CDMA and the like. Hordes of people around the world entrust the USA with their wealth. That's serious power. It means vast cash flow and the ability to attract the brains from around the world to go to and live in the USA to invent all the great things which come out of the USA.

The last thing I want to see is some Islamic Jihad wackoes damaging my investments. Or Russian. Or Chinese.

In NZ I can invest in cow poop processing or some fancy new yoghurt or how to cut down trees. In the USA I can invest in the sky's the limit. And the politicians don't stop everything and confiscate everything. Though they do take a heck of a lot and continue to take more. My allegiance only lasts until a better place and opportunity comes along. So they had better not kill the goose who lays the golden egg, though Obama threatens to do just that.

Military power is nice, but it's the result of the real power which is people being attracted to being part of the gung ho process.

I want to know exactly what that "power" stems from.

As the RE salesmen say, "Location, location, location." Strongest force in the Gulf. We might take one hell of a Naval hit in the first week if we went after them.
