David, it's all the same to me. With torture, you're going down a very slippery slope. We might save a few lives today, but at what cost to society's collective conscience? Better to take the higher road when it comes to these things. And to pursue a strong anti-terrorism policy abroad. The alternatives are to either accept terrorism as a part of life (the liberal way) or to become Fortress America (the Pat Buchanan way). Or pursue elements of all three. There are no easy answers.
