Funny, first you praise the government power of eminent domain and then you criticise the government. Or is it just our US Democratic government that you don't like?

There is no inconsistency here. Eminent domain is necessary. While government is incompetent at practically everything it does, there are some things that cannot be done any other way. Yucca Mountain is a perfect example -- without the federal government, there would be no chance of developing a safe means of storing nuclear waste. But more to the point, you could not even have a significant highway project without the government's ability to take property from those who don't want to give it up. We would have no interstates. We would have no roads, bridges, in fact, we would look pretty much like Afghanistan.

Are you actually arguing AGAINST eminent domain?
