Moved out of LA a few years ago. I still occasionally spend a few days working out of the company's downtown LA office, staying at a hotel downtown and walking a few blocks to work.

It is amazing how different LA feels when your day is not bracketed by 45 minutes of tense driving in the morning and then again in the evening.

"walking 7 miles is not an efficient use of his time ". I can
understand this. Just in case he goes to gym, 'morning run',
'morning walk'. It works, I did it once for a month in one
of my 'foreign assignment'. Took a shower before going to the
office. Kind of nice too, fresh and widely awake.
