I grew up in the middle of the largest petrochemical complex in the world. Beaumont was the birthplace of the modern oil industry. That happened on January 10th, 1901. Sure, Drake drilled wells earlier, but oil was a curiosity until Spindletop. Oh, I know. You're an expert on everything by remote association. Geez, man, give it a rest. Right wing bullshit. The rank and file don't decide on the products to produce. While that is true, it is the unions that have made the auto industry unable to compete in the world markets.

The crude in question has little use in the US. So, what are they supposed to do with it? Its even more accurate to say it has little use anywhere but the US. As I said in another note, we can build more refineries, assuming your claim about what is under ANWR is correct. What part of "sour crude" and "most US refineries can't use it" don't you understand? And Beaumont is the home to some pretty big refineries, some with the ability to refine a wide variety of crude oil. And guess what, we can build more of them suckers. And they will provide jobs for people who can send their kids to TAMU.
