McCoach maintained that hedge funds are selling their junior miners because they provide no margin value. When the hedge funds feel margin pressures, stocks that have no margin value are the first to be sold.

I am a little sceptical, because I doubt that institutions and hedge funds are starved for margin. Whatever the reason, I sure accept that they sell juniors and buy seniors. Whether the sale is long or short, the effect is the same.
