Rent USED to be deductible. Credit card interest used to be deductible too.

Maybe Obama will bring them back?

Just one of many examples of the tax code keeping the rich rich and the poor poor.

How about the rich and poor paying exactly the same percent in:

Sales tax
Taxes on Liquor
Property tax (assuming the poor own property)
Tolls
Taxes on cigarettes
Taxes on gasoline
Auto registration
Phones taxes
Cable taxes
...
...
...
What % of income do you think the "rich", and "poor" pay for these taxes?
