We can see how Bush still has a loyal base among some, but his approval ratings are the broader market's verdict on his performance. Those who dismiss his faults as the personal animosity of others are exactly why there will be no permanent conservative majority. They are too blinded by ideology and supporting their Big Guy to focus on what has changed the last four years. The other 70% of the electorate isn't. Not even the Republican party base would nominate someone with clear conservative credentials.
