So, since Kerry didn't award HIMSELF the Purple Heart, you believe that ALL Purple Hearts awarded to ALL veterans are questionable and suspect, unless they can present a missing arm or leg?

My dad had a Purple Heart, for a tiny piece of flak he got in his ass in WWII. He didn't ask for it. The military hand them out like Boy Scout merit badges. To get one, all it takes is to be treated on returning from duty.

I think anyone who disclaims his own medals out of disgust for his own service probably doesn't deserve them.

Start by characterizing things accurately. Kerry disowned his medal out of disgust for the role the US played there. We engaged in a war again on a lie, and then we carried it out in many ways immorally. Free fire zones were ordered...he denounced those when he came home and that made him the target of wingnuts like you, for whom the country can do no wrong, even when it clearly does. The swift boat turds were more right wing ideologues who can't handle objective introspection...just like you.
