I should think obedience training assumes extra importance.

I haven't owned a dog in decades, but I love Caesar Millan's show on dog training. It's really about training the owners.

His bit about "staying in the moment" works universally.

A garden hose works better for bathing big dogs. I couldn't keep my Pointer out of the water. She got out once and tore up a neighbor’s yard playing in his sprinklers. He wasn't very happy. But even dogs that that aren't natural water lovers will do okay with baths if they become accustom to them when their puppies.

I cannot imagine trying to muscle a mastiff into a bathtub

Think that's tough? You oughta try it with my Chihuahua.
