The problem is that it's a Potemkin ranch, much like Burmese cyclone victim aid camps, thrown up hastily to create an image and probably vacated once it no longer serves its PR purpose.

I'm not trying to argue a different definition of "ranch," only that the misuse of the word is common and not confined to media reporting on Bush's home.

Had the Rove/GWB cabal been more honest and not tried to spin EVERYTHING and stage manage EVERYTHING, I would have felt more charitable toward their trying to pass GWB off as a brush-clearin' cowboy.

I resent their assumption that we're all distracted morons.
