Nope...try again.

How does investment in "alternative energy" translate to reduction in gas prices now. I am waiting for your explanation...not DNC talking points.

Alternative energy, like biofuels, Kenneth?

I believe your buddy Al tried to champion that cause for a time:

I was also proud to stand up for the ethanol tax exemption when it was under attack in the Congress -- at one point, supplying a tie-breaking vote in the Senate to save it. The more we can make this home-grown fuel a successful, widely-used product, the better-off our farmers and our environment will be.

That worked out well...

Since February 2006, the shift in farming habits has caused the price of corn, wheat and soybeans to increase by more than 200 percent. Rising food prices are hitting the pockets of lower-income Americans and people who live on fixed incomes. Food riots are breaking out in some parts of the globe, and relief organizations are facing gaping shortfalls as the cost of food outpaces their ability to provide aid for 800 million people.

So what is the impact of a "windfall" profits tax?

In 1980, Congress passed a “windfall profits tax” and the consequences were devastating. In the six years following that levy, domestic oil production dropped by 1.26 billion barrels and imports of foreign oil rose 13 percent. The “windfall profits tax” was an unmitigated disaster, which is precisely why it was repealed. We shouldn’t make that same mistake again.

The DNC really needs a new play book. So explain to me again how a "windfall" profits tax will reduce the price of gas at the pump. :)

Ethanol is alternative energy and that investment has resulted in hunger in third world nations. Democrats are employing another lame liberal idea with their windfall profits tax. Now that voters understand it will increase gas prices, the Dems are running away from yet another one of their silly proposals.

Kenneth

Are you aware that the big oil companies are investing in forms of energy other than oil and gas? They are actually pioneering some of the research and establishment of other sources.

Have you looked at the costs of developing alternate forms of energy-----what ever the alternate forms be?

If not, suggest you go to their sites and find out.

Obama should do the same------he has proposed this old-fashioned windfall profits tax that doesn't fit in todays economy.

Who gets that money ? Feinstein's husband ? Sen. Rockafeller ? Pelosi's family ? Reid's ?
