I gave both the girls a number they could not exceed. I said if they were under that number I would give them cash, neither was, but both stayed on budget. I find spending huge amounts on a wedding and pictures obscene but it can pretty easily be done if you don't watch it.

What you do as the Father of the Bride, is just expect the bills to be about 3 times what they tell you... That way, when (Hopefully) they aren't so bad, you will think you came out whole!

As a Mom of the Bride years ago, I told the FotB it would be about 2 times what I thought it might be, and told the Bride that her budget was about half of what I thought it might be.... It was actually just a couple of thousand of what I had estimated in the first place, so everyone was happy....<ggg>

Weddings are fun, but very expensive! But the best part of it is they are still married, have three lovely sons, our grandsons....so it was worth it! Good thing we only had one daughter though....
