Jail Contract Tuesday June 10, 9:00 am ET World's Largest Installation of RFID People Tracking Technology SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alanco Technologies, Inc., (NASDAQ: ALAN - News), announced today that its Alanco/TSI PRISM subsidiary has been awarded a $3.3 million contract by the Washington, D.C. Department of Corrections (DOC), previously identified in the Company’s June 6, 2008, press release as a ‘large metropolitan jail,’ for installation of a TSI PRISM RFID inmate tracking system. The TSI PRISM system will be utilized to track and monitor over 2,000 inmates at the Washington, D.C. jail complex and to provide a state-of-the-art investigative tool and safety system for the DOC staff numbering in excess of 450 persons. The project is expected to be completed in the current year and will represent the largest installation of active RFID technology to track and monitor people anywhere in the world.
