I don't see how you can blame the Republicans for this mess.

Clinton vetoed drilling in ANWR nearly 15 years ago. Just today, the Democrats refused to allow drilling more than 50 miles offshore, which was utterly stupid. The refining capacity shortage is solely a result of the insane requirements of EPA and other liberal red tape.

Exactly what is it you want to blame the Republicans for? You talk about the "geopolitical risk", but that's not what is causing today's high prices (in fact, the geopolitical risk today is far less than it was two years ago -- then, Harry Reid was claiming we had "lost" the war in Iraq, and today, it is becoming clear that we are winning the war there).

This is about OPEC trying (and doing a pretty good job at it) to rape the rest of the world. While they can.

Any new lands opened up wouldn't bring new oil online for 5 years and the amounts they'd bring online would add only negligible supply and decrease gas prices by insignificant amounts. I hate to say this, but there is no one solution to long term gas prices.

Keep repeating that nonsense. The democrats' solution is to double or triple the price of gasoline. They've already doubled it since taking the majority in 2006.

Oil went down yesterday because republicans blocked the democrats efforts to screw more Americans.

Oil went up today because democrats blocked republicans wanting to help Americans.

It is the fault of the democrats.
