I'm a firm believer that we can't get things right going forward without firmly acknowledging and understanding what went wrong before.

I agree with that. What perhaps we disagree on is the meaning of "acknowledge."

It seems to me that Bush's problems have already been acknowledged many, many times over. After Rambi did her walk down memory lane, I took a look and found some of my 2003 "acknowledgments." When does repetition cease to be acknowledgment and become OCD-like, unhealthy? Certainly there will be differences of opinion on the timing. I'm just offering mine. From my angle it seems that enough is way past enough. And there's a whole new world out there.

You might find this entry of mine amusing as to timeline. And I think it well demonstrates that the acknowledgment phase has occurred. Been there, done that.

>>In other words, if you are using the word "conservative" as it relates to a vision of the proper role of government, BUSH is not one.<<
>>in my view as the WORST President of my lifetime<<

I have to chuckle when I read points like that on this thread. I posted both those thoughts here back in the middle of the first term and got everyone all exercised. Now they pass without comment. Funny how that works..."
