We are talking about over a trillion dollars worth of oil lying in the ground and there is a certaint point where the economics just swamp the environmental concerns.

Every time? See I just don't agree here. I agree with the old saying .....you don't piss in your own teepee.

Before we sell our soul for oil - just because its lots of money - let's take away some of the benefits already given to big oil. And I'm not suggesting a windfall profit tax, although I'm getting closer to being in favor of one given the clamor over the need to drill everywhere.

Good point.

Even if you main focus is environmental concerns there is a lot of good that can be done for the environment when you add that much money/resources in to the equation.
