To: TheBusDriver who wrote (59982 ) 6/12/2008 1:17:38 PM From: marcos Read Replies (2) | Respond to dmm.to - hundreds of workers looking forward to jobs at that mine, through the multiplier effect there will be many thousands who benefit from its development, they're citizens of the country too, you'd think they might have some small degree of say in the matter ... interesting that Chiriboga made the point that the regions of resources should get something out of their development, that's been a major problem in many places over the years - all the royalties and taxes etc go straight to national capitals and get sucked down bottomless black holes, the locals get left with holes in the ground and barely enough to live on, if that ... from everything i've read so far, it seems like Ecuador is headed more or less in the right directions on these questions, if they get it half fair overall then among many other effects, Dynasty is hugely undervalued
