[edit] Archimedes, I don't know if it was the PPT, but somebody hit the buy switch to turn around a diving market into the close. Look at the charts for all the major indices. What was the impetus to turn all the major indices around?

Do all the floor traders see somebody buying and decide to turn the whole market in the opposite direction?

I don't really know. Do you?

When the market goes up, you shake your head and say it's always the ppt. When it goes down, do you think to yourself "my shorts are really working today"?
