Don't shareholders have some say with regard to the options compensation package? Used to be the rule that such options were only valuable if the stock appreciated, thus rewarding management for a job well done.

I have no idea who the majority shareholder(s) of this company is(are), but it would seem to me that they have some say about the actual pricing of management options.
