I guess if you're socially conservative you might not. Me, I want the most freedom for people socially, even though I don't always like what people do with that freedom.

Personally I have found in recent years both the mainstream left and right curbing freedoms... it just seems to depend on someone's pet cause at the time. It's appears to me that both candidates will enlarge government albeit Obama seems more likely to role back foreign involvement of the US military which I view as a plus. Obama (as well as many others..) is playing up the bogey man of "Big" oil. US big oil is nothing like it was 35 years ago (When a movie like Syrianna may have had a little bit more basis in reality..)

McCain seems to be Neocon-lite (albeit more responsive than Bush..) and Obama is making a number of promises but would facing an economic situation that really calls for greater austerity. Sounds good on paper to many but by going after "the big corporations" I am guessing an even greater number of wealthy people will move their funds and business offshore.

I dunno. That's kind of throwing your vote away. You don't find the supreme court a compelling issue for Obama?

I have little doubt he'll take California by a greater percentage than Kerry's win in 2004, hence I don't think it's a throw away vote.
