The rightwing attacks every major newspaper and network and falsely demonizes them, and they do it all the time. The lone exceptions are their own Fox News and a few others owned and operated by rightwing ideologues. The founding fathers made sure that the Constitution provided for a strong unbridled press which HAS to be able to remove a corrupt president. Along with congress and the courts this is one of the checks of balances of any strong democracy. If you take away a strong independent press, or congress or the power of the subpoena, all of which Bushies have rejected, you slide fast into FASCISM.
