Hurst is an idiot but i think you need to understand that american presence in an arab country for an extended period of time is doomed to failure. Surge has been a success and now its time to start bowing out and not digging in. Shiaa iraq will be contested in the south by al sadr vs the others. Kurds run their piece regardless of what we do. And the sunnis will have to settle for minority status with the payoff being federalism and sharing oil royalties. It will not always be perfect and it will be sometimes violent but such an arrangement should hold now that al quaeda is gone. Can i guarantee this arrangement as being long term successful--nope. Can you guarantee american base camps as you describe being long term successful---nah. The only think i can guarantee is the extrication of american soldiers and contractors from what is mostly and internal and civil strife type of situation. Americans wont die and although we will still help, the enourmous amounts of money be spent on iraq will stop.

>>" One thing is certain, we're not talking about 58 Camp Victories, or 58 or the large bases as in Kuwait. "<<

$2.7 Trillion and counting...

Yup, we have 30 of those going to 58 but hey, not too worry, fools such as you understand the "methodology" and even have access to the base manpower counts.

Yup, only a couple of billion required and then Iraqi oil revenues will fund the rest...who on earth would make such a statement? No doubt the type of someone you look to for "knowledge?".

Yup, you are similar to the current and some former WH staff...Puzzled.

Are you really that stupid. (no question mark needed)

" Two point seven ($2.7) Trillion is too small a number

Idiot remark."

I'll bet when Larry Lindsey projected Iraq might cost $200 million you agreed with Bush and Rumsfeld that the number was "ridiculously high". Didn't you Dave? Lindsey was fired.

Some of these "bases" may consist of 10 or 20 men.

Link please.
