"Enemy combatants," who knows? What's missing from the legalistic debate are basic questions of decency in how we treat other human beings, even if they are bad guys. We know this "war" has an infinite duration the way it has been framed, so holding combatants with no way out for automatic life sentences is plain barbaric. As we know from world opinion, our response to the bad guys has only dragged us down to their level in terms of perception.
