the reason the IPCC was started back in the late 80s was precisely to take "a comprehensive look at the evidence that really proves the case either way." The problem is finding an unbiased group. Groups like that are inevitably staffed by movement people. If you're going to put together a group to look into anything, you pick representatives who are into whatever the subject is because those are the people who have a background in the subject and have an interest in participating. The likelihood of their ever reporting anything but a ratification of the movement view is closer to none than to slim.
