If you don't know for sure do you want to risk hell. If the alternative is participating in rituals and saying things you truly don't believe, sure. But in this case, the notion of hell is more ridiculous than how most people envision heaven, IMHO, so avoiding the "danger" is an argument full of holes. In the environment/economy balance, wrecking one to preserve the other makes no sense. So extreme programs are unlikely to pass while so much uncertainty exists. The nature of our system will tend to follow the debate and do something but not everything one side calls for.
