McDonough is amazing imo - highly recommend reading his book. The book itself is a cradle to cradle product. It feels plasticky and heavyish, apparently you can drop it in the bath and nothing happens, but I haven't tried that one yet.

The most important takeaway for me is that there are workable solutions for many of the problems we face. The confluence of GW and carbon energy crisis demands action. I think a lot of the discussion, an energetic diversion away from what the heck we should be getting on with as we speak. Prove this prove that might be a fatal waste of resources. Our bodies and our biosphere operate along similar energetic lines. First thing is, they will perform wonderfully if we don't fill them with crap. Second thing is conservation of energy. All the back and forth over costs and benefits is a lot of heat signifying nothing. Me at my cynical best, or worst, but this is a serious loss of energy. The reason the yogis can dry wet blankets outside in the winter is because they are calmly focused on their objectives. Energetic resources become available to us simultaneously with the development of a focused attention. Lots and lots of screaming and yelling back and forth does nothing but drain energy and lead to depletion. Not a good situation to be in when trying to solve an energy crisis, personally or publicly. The problem is not unsusceptible to action. We all need to act.
