Is there differing opinion on that, too?

There is feedback that the tablet form doesn't show up as well in blood tests. I have found the best source on the net at the moment is "Carlson 2000IU softgels." I buy it in 360 softgel bottles from Vitacost at $11.09 plus 4.95 shipping for any size order. vitacost.com

You get a lot of static from various health sources as to the amount to take. They want you to take 1000IU per day. That's way too low, IMO. Most older people test out at about "20." Lifeguards at my beach test out at 60 to 70. Even the most cranky of sources admit that anything under 150 is safe.

I take four a day for a total of 8000IU intake. My last test, after taking that much for four months, was "80." Exactly where I wanted it to be. I will be tested again next week. The more you weigh, the fatter you are, the more you need to take to get your number up.

The studies continue to pour in every month now about the effect of vitamin D on Cancer and Heart. They are just to positive to ignore.
