ANWAR reserves havebeen estimated as high as 30bill barrels. Who knows? Other areas of Northslope have also been found to have potential reserves- west of Prudhoe.

We use about 20mill barrels a day and import about 10-12 mill barrels of that. So ANWAR could supply us thru the pipeline about 1.5 mill barrels probably. Depends on pipeline capacity and how much Prudhoe is using. Anyway if ANWAR was used in US, it would help out say to the tune of 2 mill barrels a day or 720mill barrels a year for 41 years. Combine that with Bakken field in ND, shale in Wyoming and Montana, and Offshore and we would have lots of time to figure out alternatives. That is the key. We need time and we need Nukes and Coal to make electricity for alternatives whether hydrolosis for hydrogen or battery charging- what have you. JMHO.
