It begs the question how reliable are the interpretations/arguments of politicians and academics who often have vested interests in the results of the research and the debate and the necessary policy. That point alone, imo is worthy of serious discussion

But since no one can adequately define and interpret all the science behind it, we end up with muddled science and political clashes at the same time.

More heat, less light.
