Apparently, all the Alaskan oil is exported by us to Japan because the shipping is cheaper.
Most of the oil we use comes from Mexico and Canada.

The Chinese population makes for a huge marketplace so China will be serious competition for any oil consumer. I understand that India is also transforming it's standard of living so they are yet another competitor for oil.

Conservation is critical or oil will eventually by $200/barrel...................isn't that an awesome thought.

I saw one sign that posts $4.69 a gal for regular as I was driving into work this morning.

Some Mexican friends of mine claim that our economy has adversely affected Mexico as well. Less money is flowing back into their country due to the lack of work for Mexicans here in the US. My friend is leaving for a month with her family in a city called Quiroga, in Michoacan . She was telling me that crime is escalating due to the increased number of desperate people.
