Could it be oil traders don't believe the Saudis can increase production?

That, and they can't increase it at the rate of consumption growth.

If/when we get to an actual shortage, where people have to wait in line for gas, then the scope and severity of the problem might sink in.

The democrats continue to confirm they are going to block any efforts at increasing our domestic supply of energy.
