Ted, nice article. I couldn't help but giggle at the comparisons between Seoul and Seattle, even though the article is from the Seatle Times.

For one, Seoul is like ten times bigger than Seattle. Much more dense, too, even more than NYC. This despite the very mountainous terrain.

I also like this quote from Lee Myung-Bak:

> "Speed is money," said Lee, who holds a Ph.D. in engineering from a British university. "We were behind in our infrastructure and we couldn't catch up. We were doubling our city population every 10 years. We had to intervene."

Something to keep in mind for publicly-funded projects that go over budget and past the original deadlines.
