And every step of the way, Republicans have tried to stop the progress by providing oil companies with subsidies to preventing the raising of miles per gallon requirements on new cars. If nothing else, it is clear that the one thing that will get this problem solved is high gasoline prices. Raising the MPG requirements on new cars (essentially, eliminating the rights of automobile buyers to drive WTF they want to drive) does not contribute to a long-term solution of the problem. The ONLY thing that will solve this problem is more expensive gasoline. For a good communist such as you, it is impossible to understand. But for the rest of us, government isn't the solution to all problems.
