John, my choice would be Christine Amapour.

Terrific choice. And she has the virtue of internationalizing Meet the Press.

She was, as I'm certain you know, widely courted by the major networks at one point, eventually took some sort of slot with CBS News' 60 Minutes, in addition to her CNN gigs. But I don't see that kind of interest in her now.

Perhaps we should argue for a year or two of trial moderators/hosts, just to see who does it best. The list could include Chuck Todd, Christiane Amanpour, Gwen Ifill, Chris Mathews, and on and on.

That should get some viewers.

My choice might be Anderson Cooper but I will go with Cnyndwllr as that woman is dynamic.. She is also controversial...
