CEO pay still chugged to yet more dizzying heights last year"

No big surprise. That has been the trend.

Killinger, the CEO who led WaMu into its current huge mess, refuses to step down and the BOD apparently is in his pay. The BOD did replace one officer recently and Killinger expressed great shock at their taking such a harsh measure. Apparently, BODs and CEOs are glued at the hip. That means the BODs are no longer a check on incompetent CEOs. I can't help feeling that the assault on the Treasury and the assault on the corporate balance sheet have been orchestrated by the same entity.....but then that would be a conspiracy theory. I guess GOP paranoia is starting to rub off.

Sure has... still I'm surprised, all the time.
