It surely IS bad down here......thank goodness I purchased mine over 6 years ago from an elderly lady that I have remodelled to my own taste! Matter of fact, a family of five purchased a house down the street from mine two years ago for 1.6 million and today the house has been sitting vacant, is bank owned, and for sale almost 300K less than what the family purchased it for. I did not know them but their children were young and I have always felt sorry for their predicament according to a friend of mine who is a real estate agent here.

Some of the newer neighbourhoods in San Diego have several foreclosures or abandoned houses littering the block. Some builders just gave up building and there are many unfinished houses just sitting there.

Did you folks up there in Canada experience anything like what the mortgage crisis brought here??
