Why do you think the Democrats can influence Lieberman? When the Dems refused to back Lieberman for the Dem seat, he went Independent and won without their support. From Lieberman's perspective, he doesn't think he owes the Dems anything, and I don't blame him. Dems can't expel him from the party, because he's not in the party any more.

I agree. The Dems are between a rock and a hard place. Nonetheless, I believe they should risk their slim majority and kick him to the curb. Just seeing his photo causes me to dry heave.
