Doth think you are reaching for a similarity with Abraham Lincoln and particularly Thomas Jefferson that does not exist.

koan: Obama is one of he smartest people I have ever listened too.

I was born and raised in a very tough city with an alcoholic father. But I somehow had the curiosity to know how ignorant I was early on. No one in my family ever went to college and most did not get through high school.

I was lucky and stumbled into college. Recognizing my ignorance early on I have spent my life reading and studying as many of the great thinkers I can to learn what they know. I know how the great thinkers think. And what they think about.

What is ironic is the moderator here villifies the following:

Members of Media who consider themselves "elites" and we consider merely obnoxious: Hillary Clinton's (Murky)Media Matters, Maureen Dowd-NY Times, Chris Matthews, Paul Krugman-NY Times, Bill Moyers-PBS, Dan Rather-CBS(thankfully retired), Tom Brokaw-NBC(retired as well), Imus, Molly Ivins, LA Times, Arianna HuffnPuff, etc

The above are among the smartest people in the country. It sounds to me like she does not like anyone who is educated.

If you have a brain tumor do you want an 'elite physician" to tend to you, or the local farmer?

Same with president. Give me an elite president. We have had enough mediocrity.
