"Until you experience the court system used as an oppressive tool, your opinion means little.

of course, 99% of the german public had no knowledge of what was happening across the street."

Ha! So now it's comparable to Nazi Germany? Good thing my opinion means little, 'cause I think you're full of hyperbolic bull crap.

Until you've done X, or experienced X, you opinion about X means little is generally a silly idea, and this particular case is no exception.

No human justice system has ever been able to guarantee justice. It is in general futile to put your hopes on creating a virtuous society behind a system of punishment and correction of wrong doing. It is backward looking. To front load a society, in a way that would generate respect in culture, you have to foster attitudes that create a long term vision founded upon principles of human decency.

I've no illusions about us being able to fix any justice system that is not founded first and formost on sound principle, operated by persons of honorable character, and supported by a society of noble citizens. My personal goal, wrt justice systems, is to avoid being numbered among those who enter there-in.

Have Peace,
