What is worrisome is not that he was once a Muslim, or still more absurdly, considered to be a "secret Muslim," but that he is ignorant of Islam.

Excellent point. That's an ignorance which will prove to be no bliss.

Presidency is not a place to learn basics. When Soviets invaded Afghanistan, President Carter went on national TV and announced that their act "changed everything he ever thought about the USSR" (quoted from live memory; I may be paraphrasing). Remember my chin dropping - "In what world was this man living until today?"

Mr. Obama will drop quite a few chins, if elected.

And a greater problem is a lack of historical knowledge, and a naiveté (without the viciousness) about the world that rivals that of Jimmy Carter, and a trust in such obviously disturbing "advisers" as the vicious, and naively realpolitiking, Zbigniew Brzezinski.

I like it when people kick Zbig. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow.

Count the PC reasons he couldn't say

"I studied Islam and Christianity and made a conscious decision to chose Christianity."

It would gain him points on my score card but probably not for his core.
