pa was a red state the previous governor was republican. rendell from philly is very popular and won the next election. the house was run by a republican majority.

most of the counties outside philly used to be republican but are now all democrat with the exception of Chester county which is also changing. you have the population changing with more moving out of democrat philly into suburbs.. on the other end of the state you have pitts. which is another big democrat city .. in the middle you have small towns, mid america , mostly republican.

mccain can win Pa if he goes after the working middle class votes.. obama screwed that up while in S. F. and these people will not forget his comments. McCain has to get the white women's vote.

if i was a betting man i would bet mccain takes pa but it will be close. Rendell is extremely popular. He will have his whole machine working for Obama.
