This white wine is best young and pairs beautifully with grilled seafood and similar summer fare. Don David (Michel Torino Estate) 'Reserve' 2007 (Cafayate Valley), $16* Delicious Best of tasting. Pure, juicy nose of distilled apples, peaches and pears. Exceptionally clean, intense wine with a remarkable finish of peaches and pears. Bracing. Zolo (Fincas Patagonicas) 2007 (Mendoza), $12* Very Good/Delicious Best value. Juicy, with oranges, grapefruit and a touch of honey. Balanced and grown-up. Satisfying and sophisticated, with lovely fruit and admirable restraint. Alamos (Catena) 2007 (Salta), $10* Very Good White peaches and minerals. Almost a Riesling-like purity; fruity without being sweet. Quite tangy. Lots of tropical fruit, especially Persian lime. Pannotia Vineyards 2006 (Salta), $7.99 Very Good Nice intensity of fruit, with some roasted almonds and grapefruit and a drop of honey that gives it a hint of brown sugar. Multilayered taste and rich in its own way. Tomero Wines 2007, $21 Very Good Really fine, with lots of lime, plenty of juiciness, some flowers and minerals. Quite crisp. We also liked the 2006. Crios de Susana Balbo 2007 (Salta), $14.99 Good/Very Good Fun, with tangy, lively fruit and a bit more oily mouthfeel than others. Finca La Linda 2007 (Cafayate, Salta), $8.99 Good/Very Good Imagine sunshine on gravelly soil—clean, fresh and nicely earthy. Tastes less like specific fruits than it feels like winning sunshine. Trivento 2007 (Mendoza), $10.99 Good/Very Good Very fresh and clean, with some spritz. Peach, kiwi and lemon. Fun summer sipping wine. From today's WSJ. Zolo stands out on the list. They seldom rate a wine Delicious. Usually some stratospheric Cal Cab or First growth frenchie. MP
