I didn't say the government has no advantages (it does after all have more money, and more authority than the private sector alternatives). I said that the governments action in this area reduces private action in this area (note that I did not say it reduces the total amount of action, nor did I assert that it reduces the overall effectiveness of the effort). You called that "supposition without basis", and I pointed out the basis is rather strong. Pointing out government advantages doesn't amount to a counter argument. Perhaps you thought I was implying that less OVERALL effort would be made in this area if the government acted in a big way, by my point was only that less PRIVATE effort effort would be made.
