MJ, with all due respect (you seem like a decent person), good thinking and decency is what we should all be looking for in a president. It is an abstract concept and maybe that is why some cannot understand it. Most peopel live in a world of concrete thinking.

But being able to think well and having a good conscience is paramount to what made Lincoln, washington, Jefferson, FDR and Kennedy great presidents.

It isn't a "something he has done" it is something he can do because he knows how to think.

Scientific American last year had a great aticle on "the expert mind". They studied chess players and said it takes 10 years to develop an expert mind. What happens when one develops an expert mind is that one gets what scientific american called: "knowledge directed perception".

i.e. being able to see and foresee what will result from a specific action. Like a chess player knowing what move to make.

When bush and the neo cons went into Iraq they did not have "knowledge directed perception", and by their own admission got a lot of things wrong. Reason rumsfeld was fired.

They did not see what their action would cause e.g. not understanding sunnie and shia, disbanding army, too few troops, no plans for occupation, they did not meet us with flowers as cheney said, wolfowitz said Iraqi oil would pay for the war and on and on.

Just plain old good thinking and decency.

And anyone (not you MJ) who would not vote for Obama because of race I call a coward and a scum bag!
