Up here in Canada unconfirmed leaked information on the iPhone data plans shows rates similar to AT&T which is excellent if true, the Rogers Communications wireless company has a reputation for huge data charges.

The bad thing is they want a 3 year contract.

ehmac.ca

Rogers owns Fido (the only other GSM company) which is more personal/youth oriented and Fido also gets the iPhone, presumably same data rates.

The iPhone should sell great here as I'd guess there is a big pent-up demand, we never officially had the 2G phone except for a few unlocked and lots of people want that 3G version.

I might even get one. Although I don't need it except it will get me more familiar with a key Apple product. I guess anyone who owns the stock can justify this as research.

The phone has the same product prices as USA ($199/299), here are the unconfirmed data rates from that link:

"Consumer Data Plan (must be added to qualified voice plan):
$30 - Unlimited Data (E-mail/Web), includes Visual Voicemail when subscribed to any voicemail service.

Enterprise Data Plan (must be added to qualified voice plan):
$45 – Unlimited Data with personal and corporate e-mail, web, includes Visual Voicemail when subscribed to any voicemail service."
